Hello and welcome. Today on the podcast, we're going to be talking about using webinars to grow your business. Now I know some of you are going to be saying webinars in Nigeria. Come on, let's be realistic. Well, yes, there are some people who are using webinars to promote their business. So I didn't just come up with this on the fly today, but actually I am consulting for or rather coaching a client currently and he's in the business of producing audiobooks.
Now what he does is, OK, well he's in audio production obviously. So they produce audiobooks for Nigerian authors in the non fiction space and the value proposition, the value that they bring to their customers, that's he and his team is well, of course, they give Nigerian authors another Ave. to gain income because you can make money from selling audiobooks, of course, especially if you're selling in crispy dollars, not selling in naira.
So that's a good one. Then they also give authors an Ave. to expand their influence. Excuse me, because the physical copies of your books are going to have limited reach. I mean like take for instance Chimamanda, I think she released a book last year. She Mamanda Ghazi Aditya, I think that's her full name, OK. She don't marry now, so her surname has changed. I mean, she'll be feminist, OK. I'm not sure anyway, So whatever her name was or is, so she got a new book out last year I think.
So you know standard it will sell in America as per she's basically a Yankee in my own opinion anyway. Then some companies will sell in Niger because definitely she get fans over here. Then where else OK, some will sell in the UK because you know Nigeria people the UK plenty. So the book will sell in America, it will sell in Nigeria, it will sell in the UK, but of course it will sell mostly in America and in the UK because you know that in this part of the world, you know now piracy day, even you that you're listening to this thing.
Now I know that you pirated a book within the last like 2-3 months. So if you're going to limit yourself to traditional publishing options and only sell physical copies of your books, then of course the reach that your books are going to get is limited. So that's the reason why our folks like my client comes in with your services. OK, now Smofi are asking, So what does that mean for you? Very simple. Now my guy now in running this business, he's facing some significant obstacle because people come at him, you know,
with all kinds of questions and they don't even understand like when the guy gives them his rate, he's like, OK, you know, to do this one, do this one, do this one will be like being like that kind $2000. People shout like how many dollars for what? So my client is often put in the position where he has to be educating people. Now look, mommy, I understand that, you know, $2000 is is money right now. But mommy, let me explain.
This is how the thing works. We're doing like this. We'll do it like this. After we record, we'll go for more time like this, then we'll do this. So we need studio engineer, we need this person, we need that person. We need, you know, he will explain the whole thing to people. So my guy thought to himself that come I spending too much time educating people and I don't like this, by the way, that's a legitimate thing to say.
If there's a part of your sales process that the thing doesn't give you a headache anyhow, it's a legitimate thing to say, man, I'm tired of this. How can we make this better or what systems can we set up in our sales process to make sure that we don't have to go through this headache again? And so the guy thought of webinars, so he can be organizing webinars regularly. And I want to stress regularly because the problem with those of you who try out webinars in Nigeria and then you say webinars don't work.
The problem is that you guys did not try it regularly. You did 1 webinar in 2025, maybe you did it in March. You didn't do another one. Excuse me? And then you say webinars don't work. I mean, come on, what? What do you mean about that? You only just did one webinar. You say webinars didn't work. You have to do this in regularly before before you know what's up. It's like when I was in primary school, there was this my guy,
he liked this girl. I can't remember her name, but let's just say Chemi Bankoli. So the guy like Chemi Bankoli and always trying to hang around Chemi and of course Cami didn't like him and Cami preferred Chukudi. I said Chukudi one before. I'm just making her name up as we came inside and hanging out with Chukudi And then my guy started saying, oh, girls suck that girls have fish brain. Like what do you mean about girls have fish brain?
You only try to chase one babe, and then she's shown you, and then you say that girls suck. No, no, no, it's not like that. You try first. You try a couple of times before you give up on something. So it's also the same thing for those of you who try webinars. And it's one of the advice that I give my clients that, look, this thing is a good idea. I asked a couple of questions to see what it was that he had planned, to make sure that there's some structure there and to make sure that he's going to deliver value.
I was like, OK, cool, but you know, you have to try this in a couple of times. And he's like, yeah, that he's ready to do it for every single two weeks. I can't remember for how long. That's OK no problem, go ahead, let's give it a shot. So yes, webinars are viable options for people who are growing businesses in Nigeria. And it's not just as my client in the audio production space, there are people who do it in insurance, wealth management,
all kinds of things. So there are Nigerian businesses that do webinars. Maybe a webinar is not suited or be suitable for your own kind of business. But we can't just say webinars, that was 20 years ago, it doesn't work now. Or to say that webinars, it doesn't work for Nigerian businesses and Weibo something, it can't work. So today we're going to explore how to use webinars to grow your business. So we're going to explore a few questions.
We're going to, first of all, we're going to look at what is a webinar. We're going to look at the business philosophy behind webinars, how we can get webinars to work for you. And one question that only throughout there because some of you believe that, OK, if I'm doing webinars, therefore I should not learn other forms of selling. And I'm going to tell you that you're absolutely wrong. Even though now webinar you do run, it will help you if you learn other kinds, other forms of selling so that you can make the most profit out of your webinar.
So these are some of the questions that we're going to tackle. If this is your first time listening to the podcast and you're picking up what I'm putting down, you're feeling the flow, you like the vibe, you like this business goodness, didn't it make sense? Then subscribe to the podcast on Spotify, on Apple iTunes, YouTube, wherever it is you listen to your podcast. My name is Tavishima Ayede, I'm the host of the show.
If you'd like to connect with me, then send me a message on LinkedIn. Connect on LinkedIn and excuse me, you can call, send me a text message or WhatsApp message on 08064 662140. And by the way, if you have problems with your business or you have problems with which business to start because some of you are trying to juggle like 3 or 4 business ideas in your head, then reach out. I just gave my phone number on 08064662140.
So don't get hamstrung because you're juggling too many business ideas. Reach out. I have a system. We'll help you select one idea for you that is going to work. Then we'll try to validate the business idea to make sure that people are willing to pay nice money for this idea. Then we'll also come up with the selling system around it. So reach out so that we can start your business in three easy steps. Now some of you will ask, OK, I
don't like Step 1. I don't like Step 2. What about that Step 3? It's not a problem. Reach out. In fact, somebody just reached out to me today. I'm still not going to say his name because I was the guy that the guy that I'm currently, you know, wrestling with over a chess championship, you know, who is the better chess player. So that guy, yeah, he's, he's finally reached out. We're going to do some business together. And you know, later on after we're done with his own consulting engagement, I
definitely will be using his own business as a case study because he's in a line of business that Nigerians, a lot of Nigerians haven't heard of. Today. I'm talking about one of my clients in audio production. Some of you have not heard that thing before producing audio books for Nigerian authors. You've never heard of it. Anyway, when the time comes, you hear this guy's business. Some of you shock because me, I thought was an oible thing that is only oible people that are in the business of renting out storage spaces.
I just assume that most Nigerians if they have storage issues, you know, they'll carry it and you put it in your store or you just carry it and put it in the village. I didn't know that their businesses where they do storage space in Nigeria. So yeah, we'll talk about we'll talk about that later. And then so this guy reached out, he said I don't like Step 1, I don't like Step 2. Let's just go to Step 3. Let's create the selling system.
No problem. Reach out 08064662140 and we'll see how I can hook you up. Now. First off, what is a webinar? Now Webinar, spelling WEBINAR. I would have liked to say it in IBO, but I'll display my ignorance. OK, let me try to spell it in IBO webinar. WEBINAR. So that will be we ABA NI a re. So that's how you spell it in IBO WEBINAR. For those of you who are IBO speakers, if I did well, send me a message and tell me that.
My guy, you're on point. You try, if I messed it up, no problem, send me a message and say my guy, shut up, never speak eboo again. All right now, webinar is just, it's just a seminar that you conduct online, that's all. Simple. Webinar is just a seminar that you do on the web, that's all. So for those of us who schooled in Nigeria uni unigwags that's Abuja, OAU unilag Abu where else I come back, Coco Ibadon, you know everywhere we're all used to seminars.
The difference is just that in our uni's, we used to go for the seminar, you know, one-on-one in person, you stand up and you go to auditorium and then 4000 of you, some of you be shocked, especially those of you who are foreigners listening. Don't be shocked though, my philosophy course, philosophy one-on-one, 5000 of us in the amphitheater. Yeah, in the amphitheater because we had the proper, proper, proper amphitheater.
So 5000 of us in the amphitheater. That's how we used to attend our seminar back in the day. Good memories. So for the lecturers, in front is talking, some people are at the back, they're toasting and being toasted. Oh, those were the days. So, yeah. So we Niger, Nigerian, greatest Nigerian students, all of us were used to doing seminar but used to doing it in person. So webinar just means you organize your seminar and you do it online.
Now it's a form of doing lead generation because the idea of when you do a seminar online is you're trying to get customers from the crowd. Now lead is a form of doing lead generation. Now, lead generation just means any activity that you do that will get people to raise their hand, that will get people to show themselves that they might be interested in your product or your ServiceNow. The reason why people do lead generation is because running around to start chasing customers is hard.
Waking up every day, going to people's office, making phone calls, you know it's hard. So people are always looking for ways that you can do something so that people who are kind of feeling you, who are kind of interested, who kind of have one or two questions, let them come to you. Then from there, hopefully you'll be able to close some some business. That is what we call lead generation. So the day behind lead generation is if you're able to gather a crowd from that crowd,
you should be able to find people who are qualified for you to talk to. That is people who have a budget for what it is that you're doing, people who are ready to take the next step, people who have a clear need and people who have a timeline like they're ready to move forward now or ready to move forward soon. People who have a want, people who have a need, people who can afford what you have, people who have some urgency.
Those are the ideas behind lead generation. Let us see how physically or online we can gather a crowd there. From that crowd, inside that crowd, you know, my people go there as in you know, we have to do small hunting and pecking or from the crowd that gathers will be able to fish out people who are ready to do work with us. Now. That is what lead generation means. So you can see how webinars can work for Nigerian businesses.
So people know today, shout webinar again because it's a technology that is old and it's time has passed. Well, no problem. I keep telling people don't focus on what is new or whatever. It's not about what is new, it's about what works. If it can't work and it can work in the Nigerian context as my auntie likes to say, if not, why not give it a shot? What's the worst that will happen? You try it 345 times, the thing doesn't work and no problem,
move on. That's life for you. That's business. We're trying to make money. We try different things. Some will work. The one that works, continue. The one that doesn't work and don't continue. Now all this thing, I'm talking about webinar, because it's online based, is this new technology? In a way you might say yes, 'cause it's online based. But this is where I prefer to look at. I prefer to say no that people have been doing webinar all the time because remember I said webinar just means seminar that you conduct online.
There are business in Nigeria, businesses Nigeria that ever since 1960, Borogo have been conducting seminars to grow their business. There are businesses that since the time of our grandparents in Nigeria, they have been using seminars to promote their business. Think about insurance for instance. So back in the day, an insurance person will go to your father's village and go and talk to in the town hall, the town meeting where all the men are gathered maybe or where all the women are gathered.
And then an insurance salesperson will make a presentation. The person will say I'm from Lagos, I'm from so, so so and so insurance agency from Alabama Bank and sell insurance. This is what insurance means. This is how insurance can help you market women. If you do insurance, these are the benefits, blah blah, blah, farmers. If you do insurance, these are the benefits, blah, blah, blah. The salesperson will educate everybody in the village on what insurance means and what is the benefit at the end of it.
The salesperson will now give a call to action that if you are interested to hear how insurance can help you in your market woman business, after this meeting, wait for me at the back. I will come and talk to you. So all that one didn't happen online, but it's essentially the same thing. It's the same thing. It's just the technological aspect that is different. So in 1960, something somebody had to go to the village to have this conversation with your grandpa.
Now in 2026, somebody can have this conversation with you but online. But can you see that essentially is the same thing? So This is why I tell people, stop getting don't fall in love with technology. Fall in love with the principle that is underneath. When you understand the principle, you go apply them any which way. When you understand the principle, you will know how to do it face to face in the flesh. When you understand the principle, you know how to do it online.
Now when technology changes and we start doing virtual, is it virtual reality or what's it called? You know you wear your virtual reality goggles and all, or not. When we're all in the metaverse, so long as you understand the principle, you go wrong as well. So it's not about the technology. Are we in Web 2? Are we in Web 3 or are we physical? It's not the technology. Just understand the principle first. So whether in 1963, sorry,
whether in 1966 or in 2006 or in 2046, you will run it any which way because you understand the principle. So what is the business philosophy behind webinars? So I've already explained right that the idea behind webinars is something that we call inbound marketing. Inbound is a very, very is a is a technical something. But let me explain in a very simple way. Inbound just means not damn de rush us. That is what inbound mean, not damn de rush us.
Inbound just means you're cool and then traffic is coming to you. The only job is you're now trying to separate the wheat from the shaft. The shaft you threw away the wheat. You continue to talk to them. From there you get your customers. But that is what inbound means. I'm trying to set things up so that damn, those people outside would be rushing me. I'll just be in my house under the cool AC watching Netflix and then my phone does be doing ping, ping.
I say, oh, another customer. I now say, Oh my dear, I'm coming. I'll tell my wife to pause. I will go, you know, chat with the person, answer the phone call, whatever. Come and sit down. Continue to watch Netflix. Isn't that the dream? Yeah. With inbound marketing, you should be deceiving yourself. It's not that easy. It's not that easy. But anyway, that's the goal shop with inbound marketing, that other people should be rushing me.
But then, of course, the opposite of that is outbound. Typically, I tell lots of people to start with outbound for lots of reasons. Outbound is when you are rushing them. So for those of us who will be fine boy, you know and you're just chilling in the lecture hall, then babes just they surround you. That is inbound marketing. You're just staying there. Fine boy. See me fresh, see my skin, everything fly. I'm just too much.
I'm blessed among women babes, they rush me that is inbound. Then outbound is maybe an average fellow and you want to marry in 2026. So today you go and toe sister being pay, tomorrow you toast the sister Alaja Sikira and then you know, you're chasing, chasing, chasing now on his outbound. So that's what it means inbound, outbound. But of course, all the women listening to this podcast, they already know what I'm talking about because when you're a woman in the inbound marketing,
you just stay there looking nice and pretty boys good. They rush you. That's inbound marketing. So inbound versus outbound, which is better? Which is easier? In my own opinion, they're both difficult. They have their own advantages and disadvantages. So just pick your poison. Which one do you like? Because each one is going to be difficult. But ideally, we should be doing both early in our businesses. We should be doing some inbound,
we should be doing some outbound. Now, what do you need to start if you want to use webinars to grow your business? Oh, it's very easy nowadays. You don't eat much. In the old days, in like the year 2000, you needed to be a computer guru to organize something like this. But nowadays technology has made it easy. So if you have a computer, you're fine. If you don't use computers at all like me, I only use my phone for absolutely everything.
Yes, I know some of you are like what? How is that possible? Don't worry, when you get in touch with me, I'll tell you how it's possible. I do everything from my phone, including recording this podcast. I'm using my phone right now as we speak to record this podcast. So you have a computer, you're good. You have a phone, you're good. Microphone would be nice, but most headsets nowadays are very, very capable. So as long as you have yourself a good headset.
But please reward on noise cancelling because I know these are people are trying to use noise cancelling headsets nowadays. But the problem is you know, like you're buying budget headphones with noise cancelling. My brothers and sisters noise cancelling right now in 2026 on budget headphones, I think it doesn't work. It doesn't because the algorithms are not really advanced. So what happens is if you'll be cancelling the noise, it will also be cancelling your voice as well.
So it'll be hard for people to hear you. So my advice now in 2026, if you want to go and do noise cancelling headset, go and buy correct noise cancelling headset. Don't go and buy those cheap. See, I'm speaking from experience. I wanted to buy a headset and the girl, you know, she used sweet mouth for me. She said he has noise cancelling. I bought it. I honestly speaking to you today, nobody can hear me when I'm talking.
The only way somebody will hear me is if I'm in a quiet room and having the conversation. But what's the point of buying noise cancelling headphones? I need to buy noise cancelling headphones so that I can be driving a car, we can be doing a phone call. I can be in the market, can be doing a phone call or they can be dropping bombs all around me. We can be doing a phone call. Those cheap noise cancelling thing No they work so don't waste your money.
Somebody tells you bring 20,000 they will give you noise cancelling headset. I'm telling you in 2026 it is a lie. The thing will not work. Go and buy Bose, Bose or some of us like to call it Bose. Go and buy Bose headphones or Bose headphones or what's that one? Is it Scherzinger be something anyway, where was I So computer phone, you'll be good Microphone top no problem. Design skills. OK, yeah, maybe you need some design skills because lots of people like to do webinars with PDF and PowerPoint.
So maybe you need that. But if you're not a design person like me, I know design Shishi, I design nothing. Then you don't need it. I know some of you be like what? How is that possible? And don't worry, it's possible. Just get in touch. I'll let you know how if you've ever been on any webinar that I've been on like the the AI that was last year, that was what was it called again Nigerian AI society or something like that.
So the the webinar that they did on how to apply AI to your business. Yeah, everybody was doing PDF everything. They asked me do you want PowerPoint? I said no, I don't need PowerPoint. They said Are you sure? I said don't worry. I said I'm I'm a live *** Just let me know when we're going live. I handle my thing. So I did my own like that. But yeah, if you are afraid, then go and get some design skills or some PDF skills.
So that's what you need. Now here are some practical questions. Some people like to go through all the stress of organizing A webinar. But here are some questions I want to ask you. How about the broadcast? Have you thought about that? Some people ask me, Tavish Amar, why don't you organize a webinar? And for a while I almost got seduced into conducting webinars. I tried doing LinkedIn lives, but I want the I just reasoned the thing now I have thousands of subscribers over here.
Don't be webinar, be that thousands of people are showing up to listen to me every single week and I get a chance to educate. I get a chance to entertain once in a while, I get a chance to sell something and acquire a customer. So it's not a webinar, but for all intents and purposes, this thing I'm doing here on the microphone. What do you think this is? Remember I told you don't fall in love with the name, fall in love with the principal.
So if you have a podcast, you need a webinar or if you think you can start a successful podcast, would you still need a webinar? Now, how about LinkedIn Live? When people are talking to me about webinars, I decided to use LinkedIn Lives to start to get into the game. And that's when I realized the level of stress involved trying to get dozens of people on a webinar because the way it works is conversions are not high.
So you know, maybe you reach out to 100 people and then maybe 5 or 10 of them show up for your webinar. So it was a lot of work. It was then I now put two and two together and realize that look, why am I stressing myself every single week trying to get 1020 people to show up for a webinar? Meanwhile, I have over here on this podcast. Currently it's 4100 subscribers on Spotify. So people are already here giving me free attention.
Why am I going over there to go and chase people? So just think about it, it's not about the technology. So how about the podcast? Is that good? How about LinkedIn lives? Is that a viable option? Some people do Facebook lives. Is that a viable option option? How about TikTok lives or whatever it is that they call it on TikTok? So these are the reasons why I say don't fall in love with the technology or the name, fall in love with the principal.
Because all these things we're talking about on that was saying you can use webinar, you can also use other technologies as well. You can use podcasts, you can use LinkedIn live, Facebook live, TikTok live. Did they do live on Snapchat? I don't know. Anyway, I always assumed that Snapchat Snapchat was dead. So until I saw my sister-in-law using Snapchat, I said that was that She said Snapchat. I said I thought Snapchat was dead.
They say, are you the one that Achilles? I said no, I just assumed that Snapchat was dead. OK, so how can you get webinars to work for you? Step one, answer questions that your audience really wants to know because remember the idea is we're trying to get people to come and listen. So we should be a helpful resource. We're not trying to show off expertise. We should be a helpful resource. And that's one thing that I told my client who is in the production of audiobooks for Nigerian non fiction authors.
I told him don't go there and show everybody how smart you are or how handsome you are or you know how your phone is on point. Be a helpful resource. Nigerian authors have questions. What is an an audio book? How can I use an audio book to increase my revenues or to expand my influence? Or do Nigerian authors even use audiobooks? You know, like different questions, but just pick questions that your potential customers, your potential clients, your actual clients have, have have been asking you the questions that people have been asking you, not theory,
theory, practice, practice so that when you step there and then you own your mic and then you start dropping knowledge. People will be like wisdom. This guy is talking wisdom. That's all attract people to you at the end of the day. So it's not going on there to say, you know, I studied at Harvard and this and this and that and that, and this is how much I cost and This is why I'm the best and This is why I'm the greatest.
Show up, Show up and then answer questions that the audience wants to hear. Be a helpful resource. Then remember that this is a form of lead generation. So we should be thinking in terms of lead magnet. Lead magnet just means something you give for free so that people will drop their contact details. So please, if you're conducting webinars, you're not collecting people's phone number, you're not collecting e-mail address or more, you're wasting your time.
Don't organize this kind of thing and you don't collect phone number or e-mail address. Collect something because there's lots of work that needs to be done when it comes to lead nurturing. Now, lead nurturing just means somebody has done something to show that they might be interested in your product or your service. They gave you phone number, they gave you e-mail address. If you just look at that e-mail address or you just look at that phone number, you don't do anything.
What do you think will happen? Don't forget you next week another person will come and steal that business. So you have to reach out to them. You'll be emailing, you'll be phone calling, you'll be sending text message or whatever. Now that's the reason why I say that it's not as if inbound is easier than outbound. Each one has his own headache. So if you organize a webinar and 1500 people show and then 800 people give you their e-mail address, work, don't start, 800
people give you e-mail address. What is the strategy? What are you going to do with this 800 e-mail addresses? Maybe another 120 people gave you phone number. OK, work has started. What will you do with these 124 numbers? We'll just be looking at this phone number. Every day you gas to do something. So be collecting contact details and then get ready. The work for you is called lead nurturing. The emails that I got, what am I
doing with it? The phone numbers that I got, what am I doing with it? So you can see there is not as if one is easier than the other. Each one has his own headache. So whether you go to pursue this headache that is involved, whether you stay under them, they rush you. Headache is still involved. So that's why I say pick your poison. But you're looking for the one that is easy. You frustrate your life. So just pick one and start.
Then to make your webinars work, you have to use call to actions because so many people organize webinars. You stand in ovation and then you end and your wife will ask you how was that you? So I think the seminar went wonderful. The seminar went wonderful. How? How was it wonderful? Did anybody buy from you? Did anybody agree to our next step? Did anybody agree to something? No, and the reason why people did not agree to anything is because you didn't ask them to do something.
So before you even start your webinar, decide what do you want people to do next? And then during the webinar be telling people from time to time that this is what you want them to do next. If you're trying to see how. You can get some paid coaching from this thing during it be telling them that look if any of these questions here they're too strong for you or you want more consultation or something, just send me a message in WhatsApp and we'll be able to book a free consulting session.
Maybe you're hoping that if you talk to 20 people, you give them a free consulting session. Maybe you may able to get you know 4 clients from that. Each of the clients pay you 5500K. So OK, 1.5 M from one webinar. OK, the thing makes sense if that's. The scope then. Throughout the webinar be peppering them with that I'm available for free consulting. If you're available, just text a message to this or e-mail this, this this, or just write hi in the comments.
Our mass is now to be in touch. So what's the call to action? Well, you should be. Telling them something Tell. Them to book a free consulting session. Tell them to join your WhatsApp group. Tell them to subscribe from the next for the next webinar. Tell them to do something, anything that is going to keep communication lines open between you and them. Because it's from these small, small conversations you're having with people who show up on the webinar, they'll be able to close future deals.
So stop being like my brothers. And sisters who organize webinar and because 5000 people attended, they'll say, ah, was a beautiful seminar. It went well. It went well. How was the next step that somebody that somebody took 5000 people showed up was the next point of action. Nothing. You say It went well. How? Give them a call to action tell. Them to do something. If you call the webinar, 5000 people show up at the end of it,
nobody take action. That's not a good webinar. But if you call a webinar and then 50 people show up, but then you give them call to action, book free consulting session. 15 people showed up for the consulting session, Very good here. From now 15 you're able to book 2 deals and each of those deals they paid you 8800K. Now we can say that as a good webinar, it's not about the number. It's not about 5000 people showing up and doing nothing.
Even if 20 people show up, you get to pay clients from it. You collect some good money. That is a good webinar. It's not about the number of people that show up. So before you call the webinar, decide what do you want people to do next? That's your call to action. Keep peppering them. Keep telling them then. To make webinars. Work for me. You should also get good at selling from the stage because when you're on the microphone on the webinar, you should be 10
people, you know, buy my book, you know, do this, do this, do this, do that. So, you know, and it's the same thing as a call to action, but you already understand we should be moving people somewhere. We should be selling something, which is what I'm telling you guys, that if you have four or five business ideas, you don't know which one is the best, then reach out to me. Call your boy on 08064662140. Let us help you select the right business idea for you.
Let us help you validate that idea so you're doing the right business. Then we'll create a selling system for you, so reach out. This is the reason why I've been telling you guys for the last one month, because I'm not just doing podcasting for the sake of podcasting sake. I got mouths to feed and I meet. Auto flex. Do you know what my wife told me in December? Well, just chilling now. And I said, babe, you know I love you very much, she said.
I said which one be now I'm in the mood now while talking, while feeling free, I'm telling you that your boy loves you. The only thing he says my wife told me that her love language is shopping and foreign travel. I said really? She said yes, that's my love language. So I said OK babe, so. Because we haven't traveled in the world, we haven't done foreign shopping in the world, Does that mean that I don't love you? She said.
I didn't say it to you or the one that said I said, babe, how can you say that kind of thing? She said. Whatever you want to think my own is that my love language is shopping and foreign travel. That until we do shopping and foreign travel. You don't love me. So that's the reason. Why I'm selling? From the stage on this podcast, because I want to show my wife that I love her. I just want to, you know, one day she'll come back from workout.
Say, my dear, take this, have a look. Say what is this? I say it's all expense paid. Go and enjoy yourself in France. Go and enjoy yourself, you know, go and do massage. Go and buy things. When you finish, come back so that she would say, oh, my darling husband, now I know you love me. All right, so start from the stage. Your marriage depends on it. All right, where was that? Now? Webinars, please. For it to work for you, do it regularly.
Those of you that didn't want webinar in 2025, you said the thing didn't work. Let's get real. You only did it once. Those of you who those of us who drive, if the first time you drive you, you drove a car, you know, you run over your new bus goat. After that you say you won't drive again. You now say, oh, driving doesn't work. Driving works, you just didn't do it enough to get good at it. So do it regularly. In my own opinion, doing a webinar once in three months, I
don't think you're ready. I don't think you're ready. You know, it depends on the business, it depends on industry, it depends on the context, but the very least, at the very least at least once a month, I beg if you're going to try this thing, I will say at least once a month or you people who do webinars, you know, twice a year. Anyway, it depends on the business model. Let me not talk too much now. Do you have to be?
Good at other forms. Of selling to make the most profit out of your webinar. Yes, you need to learn personal selling. That is what I talk about over here on the podcast. Personal selling is when you are face to face with somebody. You're sitting down there across the table when they Yan you people are talking or you have a phone. The other persons on the phone you will are communicating ear to ear or mouth to ear, or you're on the keyboard, you're typing something with your thumbs or with your fingers.
The other person too is on the other end receiving the e-mail, receiving the WhatsApp. That is what personal selling is. You're having one-on-one conversations with someone. From what I've said so far, can you people see that for webinars, plenty of conversation is going to follow from the people who show up, whether it's over e-mail or WhatsApp or phone call, plenty of conversation is involved for you to close this deal.
So you guys get good at personal selling, you have to. This is where people waste their money. In webinars, so webinars, they don't convert very well. Conversion is 0 to 3%. Of course you'll be 0 to 3% because you got 5000 people to show up, but you don't have the skills to build. Relationships with people. To get conversations going to figure out what they need. You, you lack the skills. That's why you're not converting.
That's why people keep on trying to get more and more people. Let's get 5000. Let's get 10 people, 10,000. If you know what's up, if you're good at personal selling, you can actually get, you know, small people on the webinar, you know, 30-40 and make good money from it. It's not about the number. And please, please, please, I'm begging people, those of you who do webinar, you guys are in love with e-mail, any small thing,
e-mail automation, e-mail automation. Can you guys switch from e-mail to WhatsApp please as quick as possible. WhatsApp is a much more conversational platform. It'll be tough, but you know what? Buy credit and then get phones for your business partners. All of you get on those WhatsApp at least WhatsApp is a conversation or something. People go there, respond to you. You are talking, talking, talking and you have you have opportunity to move the conversation forward.
In fact, from WhatsApp, whenever it looks like somebody is is is a promising prospect, it might be a serious somebody a beg switch to phone call as soon as possible because once. You're on the one-on-one. Convo, especially if you say for something you can do need analysis very well. Oh, OK. Thank you very much for coming for the webinar. Yeah, we've been chatting for the last two weeks. Thank you very much for taking this meeting.
The reason why we're here today, I just want to find out some more about your business, find out some more about you, what you're trying to achieve, what the problem is. Let's see if my business partners and I can help. Would that be OK? Personally say OK yes you know ask them question it is. From there you'll be able to say oh based. On what we've heard so far, I think this is what I will propose in my own professional opinion.
Blah blah blah, you make an effective proposal. Now you have them on the phone. Your sales pitch will be effective. More effective in person, knowing you're texting back and forth, emailing back and forth. So I'm hoping that with all these things that I've said so far, I'm still not known webinars. I'll come back to webinars tomorrow because you get one reason why I'm on this thing is because somebody invited me for a webinar.
But as usual, I think the way she invited me for the webinar was rubbish. But anyway, we'll talk about that tomorrow so that you guys will not make this kind of mistake. Washa, just to let you guys know, yes, webinars can work in Nigeria, but then also don't fall in love with the name of the technology, fall in love with the principal. So that if now face to face, they invite you to come and talk at you know, you know,
government boys, old government boys, college, Obama Shaw reunion 2020, you know, 1996 set they invite you to come and talk. If you know the principle in your mind, you can be like. You know what, I'm amongst my homies. But I remember what Tavishima said about webinar. Even though this one is not on the web, I can do this thing. Let me see how I can get some business from this thing. After all our book flights, our book hotel, our book everything,
let me see if I can get one or two business connect from this thing. So you'll be on the stage addressing your homeboys, but meanwhile you they use webinar mindset for them because goal is 1 collect business at the end of the day. So don't fall in love with technology. You know, not the principal, not the principal. I was going to say. Don't do that in church. But that's what pastors do nowadays of they just stand in front the with the wrong webinar in person.
They're next thing they get all of you to anyway. Let me not talk because I'm also a Christian too, so and besides, you need poverty. Hook me too much me, I'll go. I'll go and open church. So anyway, where was I? So that's it, that's all for today. I'm hoping that I've been able to add some business knowledge to someone who's listening today. If this your first time of listening to the podcast and you like the business goodness, then subscribe Spotify, Apple iTunes,
