Today on the podcast, we're going to be looking at how to keep yourself or your business top of mind. In particular, we're going to look at how we can use artificial intelligence tools, AI tools, whether it's Gemini, ChatGPT, or whatever, to come up with good ideas for staying top of mind. Now, the reason why we're doing that is because what was that two weeks ago, I think 2 weeks ago, yeah, I received the call that's on the radio show live on the Air, and someone asked me that question.
Her name is Miriam, but I'm Miriam calling in from a PO who sells perfumes. And she wanted ideas for how to remain top of mind because the topic for that radio show, not this podcast that we're doing right now, I have a live radio show. So the topic for the radio show was on how to stay top of mind and why, you know, Happy Sunday, Happy New Year, Happy Easter, Happy Eidel, Madude, happy whatever are not good ideas for staying top of mind.
And we address some of that in, I can't remember, maybe last week. But if you're new to the podcast and just keep listening, eventually I'm going to get to that episode. So hello and welcome. My name is Tavishima Ayedi. I'm the host of the podcast making today's recording at home. So there will be noise in the background. Now, if you love talking about business, solving business problems, sales and marketing problems, then this podcast is your jam.
Subscribe on Spotify, YouTube, Apple, or any player of your choice. And if you'd love to connect, you can call, send me a text message or a WhatsApp message on 08064662140. Sorry, excuse me. All right, now, today's episode, we are following up a bit. Today's episode is a continuation more or less from the last one where we spoke about health. Let's see, what else? OK. We spoke quite a bit on why parents should start engaging with their children early on,
you know, business books, business content, you know, things like that. So yeah, that's all we spoke about. Most of all we spoke about last episode. So in the last episode, what I'm going to do now was supposed to be a part of it because all the things that we tackled in the last episode was stuff that came up on the radio show. So today I am finishing on Madame Miriam and perfume ideas how to stay top of mind. So let's see.
So those of you who listened, you already have the background. For those of you who didn't listen, that's what happened. Like I said, she called in or talking about how they stayed top of mind and she asks me what are good ideas or stay on top of mind for people in my line of business. I do perfumes. And I said, no Hala, as I was about to talk now, something just ministered to me and I said, you know what, Let's do this thing live.
Why don't you cut the phone, you whip out your phone. I'll bring up my own phone as my own phone was in the studio too. Yeah, I know broadcasters. I know that that is unprofessional. You shouldn't be on set and and have your phone, but you know, I'm I'm not a professional broadcaster. So and well, anyway, shout my phone was in the studio. So I said let me bring my phone. You bring your phone and then let's let's hash this thing out because we can use AI tools to do a decent job at it.
Now please listen to what I said. I said we can use AI tools to do a decent job at this. The reason why I'm stressing this is because some of you reach out to me and say AI tools are not perfect. Now listen carefully. Did I talk about perfection here? This has nothing to do with perfection. And quite frankly, too many of you are not making progress in your businesses because you're waiting for things to be perfect. I repeat, some of you are waiting for things to be perfect and that's why your business is not moving.
I was talking to one of my clients today. He's in the content creation space. We're trying to see how we can get him more clients. We're talking about some other people that could be one of his clients. And then he just mentioned something casual and I say, what do you say? Repeat that thing. He said, oh, this guy likes everything to be perfect. So we've been working on his website for one year. I say what you say one year.
He said it's kind of like a year and a half, but we're still working on it. This guy wants everything to be perfect. If you're listening and you're shocked, let that register. I am not manufacturing this, by the way. It's the worst case I've heard because the worst I've seen is people say, you know, like after three or four months, you say I'm still working on the branding. You know, I'm coming up on the core concepts.
I'm strategizing. So that's the worst I've had. Four months, the person will say I'm strategizing. There is somebody in Lagos, Nigeria that the business has not started because he wants the website to be perfect. The guy has paid, they have been working one year, six months. So please, those of you who are looking for perfection, I am letting you know ahead of time, this is not your podcast. Please move along because over here, good enough is good enough.
We're trying to test out some ideas, some rough ideas, test it quickly, see what is working, then begin to optimize. We can be perfecting as we go, but we will not wait until perfection before we start. So please, those of you who like beautiful perfect everything everything content, move on. Don't dwell on this podcast. So AI tools are a nice way to get rough and ready ideas for your business. Like let's just get something going instead of sitting down and looking at the blank page or saying, what will I do next?
So that is the perspective you want something perfect. Please unsubscribe from this podcast right now. Every episode I make will annoy you. So just unsubscribe right now so that you'll be happy and I'll be happy as well. So where was I? So some decent ideas, some quick, quick ideas. And you will see now that these ideas, honestly, they're not bad. So people who complain about perfection, EI twos, not the ideas, not perfect, something watered down, average something.
Well, you guys can be complaining. Sure. Those of us who are using it to make progress, we are using it and we are making progress. All right. Now, some of you say, isn't this lazy? No, because this is what we used to do already early on when I started my businesses, if I thought something was cool or if I needed ideas, I'll call my brother. I'll say what's up. I've been thinking about this and you know how you reason now.
I'll call my brother-in-law used to be my business partner, say yo, Patrick, what's up now how you do I beg when I when I pass me through and then he'll come later on in the evening, of course, to see my sister do I'm not married then. And then you know, we catch up with brainstorm one or two things. Of course I call mumsy. So this whole thing of reaching out to some other entity to get some ideas has been going on for a very long time.
I'm just doing the same thing. I just happen to be reaching out to an entity now that is not alive. All right, so let me stop with the philosophy. What was I? I lost my train of thought. OK, so. So I told Madam that Madam Miriam, now to get the best out of AI tools, all we need to do is we need to prompt. And the prompt is when you give an instruction to a computer. That's what it's called. So for those of you who back in the day, you know, studying Fortran, I know some of you will laugh.
You say Fortran. Since when? You know, yes, when I was in school, those were the programming languages that were there. Fortran is EC Plus, ABC plus Plus or something like that. Anyway, I'm not a computer person, but back in OU we had the computer department building then was brand new, fresh, newly minted then you know, those are the programs that they used to teach them, you know, sounding very sci-fi, very futuristic Fortran CS plus.
But I nowadays out here programming language of say is Cobra, is Python is Panda, is it animals? I busy computer code anyway, So those of you back in the Fortran CSS DS, you know, you'll be typing, you know, command control C forward slash forward slash, you know, *** you know, command prompt something, something, you know, that's what prompting is. But nowadays, since these things are, the interface is quite easy to use.
We can prompt now by just typing in instructions. And so I told her we're going to have to and the listeners on the show, we're going to have to type plenty typing because the reason why AI tools don't work for most people is because people are lazy at prompting somebody will go and write and give me ideas for staying top of mind enter now the problem is this since the AI tool is not a human being and has no background context, it is going to give you every single workable idea under the sun.
So of course, it is going to give you 250 ideas that are as generic and bland as possible. So in this case, now you know, I was rushing to wrap up the radio show. So I didn't copy the prompt that I used, but I copied the results that he gave me. So I'm going to share the results. But this is the philosophy or this is the idea when you're about to prompt, tell the ChatGPT thing or whatever it is you're using Google, Gemini,
ChatGPT perplexity, whatever. Give it some context about you, about who you are. Please do not enter any private details. Never put in details into any of these things that you do not want to be heard outside. So don't put your name, don't put your address, don't put your children's names, don't put your spouse's name. You know nothing like that. As plus, put it as generic as possible. So give some context. Who are you, what are you up to,
what are you doing, what's the context, what's the problem? What are you trying to achieve? Now ask the question. So in this case, the prompt would have been something like I am a Nigerian female entrepreneur living in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria. When you put something like that, it's not when you give you ideas that work in America. I hope you see where I'm coming from now. The fact that you put Niger, all the fancy American ideas automatically are out.
So I'm a Nigerian female entrepreneur living in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. I'm in the business of selling perfumes. My target audience are males and females between the ages of so, so so who live in blah blah, blah, blah blah. My primary channels for drumming up sales are Instagram and WhatsApp. Now see see what I said, my primary sales channels are Instagram and WhatsApp. Now automatically ideas that involve anything else like website or billboard or whatever, it won't give you that one.
You see what I'm saying? So my primary sales channels are Instagram and WhatsApp. I'm looking for a way to stay top of mind with my prospects and potential customers using these channels, and I would like to do so with a campaign that should last about a year, assuming I am assuming I'm executing these ideas twice a month. Then you hit send. You see this is a very long quote, plenty of a story, but is very specific. You think we now understand that?
OK, whatever idea I'm giving it should be something that is suitable for a Nigerian entrepreneur in Abuja, Nigeria who is selling perfume to these kinds of people over WhatsApp and Instagram, you see. So when you start to prompt in this detailed way, you now start to get responses that jive with your situation. So if you're one of these people that said I said before that AI is rubbish and his blind is generic, this is the reason why the problem was not the tool,
the problem was you. You don't know how to prompt, but I've helped you. I've helped your ministry. Now this is one way you can prompt. In fact, after this episode, go and do some research, Go and watch some YouTube videos and learn how to prompt. Because what I'm telling you now, this prompt is a very basic something. This is like prompting one O 1. What I'm telling you, there are advanced techniques. Me, I don't even bother with advanced techniques because to be frank, this primary school level prompt is quite fine by me.
It gives me OK results, but you can go and research and do more. All right, So I did. I hit send, but we ran out of time so I couldn't discuss again with Madame Miriam until the next episode. We're now went into the exercise and so I'm sharing some of the results with you today. Now pay attention. Pay attention. For those of you who say blonde, listen, now you tell me whether these ideas are not workable. I'm reading live and direct now from my Note app in Google.
I use Google Keep, so the first ideas that Gemini said I use Gemini just because I I like to use Google, but you know, that's a that's a topic for another day. We've already done 15 minutes. So first thing he said do ideas around tips and education, right, Tips and education. It has started giving examples. He said that Madam Miriam can be doing tips on how to apply perfume. Some of you say apply perfume. Is it not basic?
No, it's not basic because there's some people who are perfume people like my wife and my mom, and there's some people who are not perfume people like me. So my uncle in law now, he brought me perfumes, five of them. And to be honest, I don't know much about perfumes. I know that people look at the perfume and they say wow, it's your uncle, try for you. But anyway, so me now this how I apply perfume. I carry it and I pour it on my clothes.
Some of you, you know, might be shocked, but no, I'm serious. I take my clothes, my clothes for the one that is, you know, you do toilet or whatever. I unscrewed the cup then I now pour it on my clothes. You know like how you pour spirit on cotton wool before you clean your wound. That is how I apply my perfume. Now my wife will now begin to provoke. She will say, no, that is not how you use perfume. I say no, I'm doing it like this because I want this thing to smell.
I want people to perceive me. You know that before I entered the room, people should smell me coming. My wife would say no, no, no, it's not like that. They're supposed to put it on your ear. You put it on your wrist. You put it on your way again. And my wife would say, put it behind the knee. I say behind your knee. She say yes. Now they are as if pheromones. I'll be something that will help dispense dissent. And in my mind, I'm thinking behind the knee.
Who's going to be kneeling down and smelling my knee when that's what my wife says. So if you sell perfume, you actually can be sending content, putting up content once in a while, WhatsApp status, sending messages to people in the inbox, putting up Instagram posts that actually educate this thing. Let's say it is a male problem that men do not use perfume. That's a good idea for content. Hello love lies. Thank you for looking at my channel.
Do you know that seven in 10 men use perfume incorrectly? If you're one of those men or if your husband is one of those men, then this video is for you. Step 1. You see idea for content don't show easy. You can record it easy with your phone. If it's WhatsApp message, you can type it easy for the broadcast or for the status update easy. And this is a valuable way that you can stay top of mind with people because when you send this kind of WhatsApp broadcast message, instead of happy new month, happy Sunday, happy Easter, happy Eater, maloud,
happy something, this kind of thing is valuable. There are people who actually read it like, oh, so pouring perfume on my cloth actually is bad. I'm supposed to be putting it on my knee. Please, if it is true, if you're a perfume user and this knee thing is true, I beg send me a message. I give you my contact details at the beginning, at the end of every episode, so you can give tips on that. How do you apply perfume?
You can send it as WhatsApp broadcast. It's valuable to people. You can use that for content. Then the next thing there is messages or content around how to layer cents. Layering is when you blend perfumes. Now like I said I'm not really a perfume guy and my uncle in law, the guy bought 5 perfumes for me. Correct perfume. Well they look correct anyway. So what I did is I just arranged them according to size, starting from the smallest to the biggest.
I have started on the smallest one and I'll continue until I finish it. Then when I finish that one, I'll move to the second bottle and then I'll continue like that. By the way, I don't use perfume all the time. So in other words, these 5 bottles that my uncle in law gave me, this perfume will last me 10 years as an I'm set. Honestly speaking, I'm set. So my wife now of course she'll start to argue again and she does lots of times.
She says like why are you doing that? Now that is lazy. Don't you know that you can mix these perfumes? You spray a bit of this, you spray a bit of that, and then you get the undertone of this and the high note of this, and you smell nice and classy. And in my mind, you know, she's talking. She's talking. And I'm like, oh, OK, OK. And then when she's done, what do I do? I go back to using my perfume the way that I do, which is I
will finish this bottle, then I'll move to the next one, and then I'll move to the next one. So idea for content, Madam Miriam can be sending WhatsApp messages. This is how you layer perfumes. If you have a cinnamon note something and a whatever, whatever, something, you mix it like this to get a blend of this and this and that and that. Or for social occasions, layer it like this. For work, layer it like that. Excuse me, for informal gatherings layered like this.
See, it is valuable to your audience who is following you on social media. It is also valuable to people who have bought perfume from you before. And it's a way of staying, staying top of mind. If I use that kind of messages that somebody will see and be like, oh, Madam Miriam is true that since the last time I bought EC Miyake from her, my C Miyake has finished. I haven't bought from her. It is time for me to place a new order.
Yes, I know EC Miyake is old school, but you know, when I was in school, that's what people used to use. So that's idea #2 By the way, I asked this thing to give ideas for what for one whole year, assuming you're posting twice a week. So in other words, there are 24 ideas. You can see that we've only spoken about two. Idea number three, that is an educational one. Now, the difference between EDT and EDP. So I think that is you do trolley and you do perfume.
If I'm not pronouncing it well, please forgive me. Like I said, I'm not a perfume person, but I know that song is You Do toilet and you do you Do perfume Eau. That's French and that's how we sophisticated people talk. You do perfume. So many people don't know the difference. You listening to the podcast? I know you don't know the difference. Don't worry, don't don't feel bad. I don't know the difference either. My own is OK.
This thing smells nice. It smells cool I sprayed if it's not a matter of spray, I own I own cork it and then I just pour it on my cloth as if I'm doing spirit all right, so educate people. This is different between you do trolley and you do perfume. This is when you use you do perfume. This is when you use you do trolley. This is when you can mix both, see. Then another idea was perfume of the week. Highlight a different fragrance each week.
Can you see ideas? Can you see especially for those of you who sell perfume? If you sell perfume and let's say your stock is in your room, yeah, turn around. Now look back where you store all your produce. Can you see that you have like 50 bottles up there? If you're doing perfume of the week, can you not see that you already have ideas for 50 weeks of content highlighting each bottle? 11111 This is the perfume of the week, this is the manufacturer,
this is the history. This is how you use it. This is what is for this, you know, plenty, plenty, plenty. So give compelling descriptions of the perfume. Short descriptions. In fact, you can even tell a story. You see the way I'm telling stories. You can even tell stories as well. This one is perfume of the week. The reason why this one is a perfume of the week is because we're getting close to Valentine's and the season of love is in the air.
And this particular perfume is alluring and is made from human whatever hormone. Something, something, something, it creates an alluring whatever, whatever smell, the last one that we have, This is how it happened. I sprayed this perfume around Valentine's. My husband could not resist me. And glory be to God. Nine years later, the secret between the man and the woman was made public. By the time you tell, you know, nice story like that, you know,
people laugh. You know everything. See, you're delivering value. You're entertaining people, your people's inbox. The broadcast message is sweet. People will be looking forward to your aim to to your broadcast order. Madame Miriam, every single time she broadcast on perfume. Funny, educational, enlightening. I look forward to her posts. Instead of people ignoring your post, archiving you, moving your message to archive, blocking,
spamming, all kinds of things because they're tired of your messages that you send. January, happy new month, February, happy new month, happy Valentine's. March happy new month, happy Children's Day, April happy new month, happy Easter. Every single message happy happy happy, happy, happy, happy. Then Google Gemini also said she can do customer spotlight, ask their permission. Customers who are happy, say something about them.
Short testimonial, you know, that's all called social proof. Another idea just arrived whenever you have new stock can send a broadcast message, news talk has arrived. Describe it, give some kind call to action. You have a party this weekend. You want to try something new, you know, hit reply or click on this to order or you know, I don't know something Shah. Now let me stop there because we've done 30 minutes, but I believe that I've already made my point.
This thing, Gemini, these ideas I'm talking about, I asked for one year's worth, assuming we are posting twice a month. Can you see that these ideas are not bad? You perfection people, I really don't know what your problem is. Nothing is wrong with this problem, so take it, run with it. Most important thing is these are simple ideas that you can start with. You can get going over time, you'll see that OK, when I use this kind content, it works, it hits.
This other kind of content doesn't really hit. Let me double down on this kind more SHA. The most important thing is we can use these tools and we can get going right now. We can get going today. If you bought your phone in 2024, it's already installed on your phone. Android users it is there. If you bought your phone in 2025, it's already on your phone. Android users it is there. If you bought your computer in the later half of 2024, it is there. 2025 it is there. iPhone people, it is there.
It's just that one that is on your iPhone I think is copilot I think or char GPT 4 I'm not sure I can't remember but shy it is there. It is free, use it. Learn how to prompt. Don't worry about perfection. The goal is use this thing and to get started. When we start, we will perfect with time. We will refine with time. We will get better with time, but shall let us start. Don't be like those boys that I hear about. And so boy, how fun are that?
Your idea is our man. I'm in the kitchen, I'm cooking, I'm cooking, I'm strategizing. Four months, You're strategizing some other people. Oh, yeah, I'm working on my brand. I'm working on my brand. Two months, You're working on your brand. You don't know that if you start in January, you do January, February. By March, you have made some progress. Instead of March, people ask you how far you save me. I'm working on my brand.
Working on your brand for two months. And then the Horror Story that I heard today, the guy wants things to be perfect. We've been working on the website. One year and six months. One year and six months, my brother, my sister, listening to this podcast, Those of us that have small businesses going, even if it's 2020 K5050K every single month. If you started a year and a half ago, where will you be now? Even if it is only 5050 K for profit every single month.
Anyway, let me stop lamenting. Yeah, so that's it. That's pretty much all it is for today. So remember, if you'd love to connect, you can call send me a text message or a WhatsApp message on 08064662140. Thanks for your time and attention. I'll catch you next time. Same place in your headphones and in your speakers. And if this is your first time listening to the podcast, don't worry, I'm not always this rude. This is just something that really pains me.
It's just always on my chest and I wish it was one of these. Anyway, I'll catch you guys next episode.
